What I have Learned
Life is a game and you make up the rules as you go through it. You can win or lose, depending on how you make the rules. If you believe you are a victim, you write rules such that you never win. If you believe you a being of greatness, you write the rules as if winning were never a thought in your mind. Winning and losing are 2 sides of the same coin and it’s not the object of the game of life. You win when you live your life and not someone else’s. You lose when you follow someone else’s path, not your own. Reality is your perception of what is, not what you hope it will be. What is real to you is not real to me, nor should it be. We each have a reason for coming here and that is our path. Our path is shaped by our mind pattern which, in turn, shapes our life. We grow throughout life and as a consequence of that growth along our path, we come to see reality, each in a different light. We all have our filters and blinders. We discover our path by inspecting our life with a passion. There is no easy path for us, although we can make it harder if we want to ignore the lessons through which we live. We repeat the same experiences and carry the same baggage until we learn the lesson we came here to learn. Our lives are as hard or as easy as we make them. We have no responsibility to anyone, but ourselves. The object of life is not to win or lose, be rich or poor, but rather to experience the richness of our purpose for being alive on earth. If I don’t experience that purpose, I will repeat endless variations of the same theme until I do fully grasp the meaning of why I came here. I may have come here to climb the corporate ladder and again, I may not have. If I am climbing the corporate ladder and I didn’t come here to do that, I may at times feel an emptiness about the whole of my existence. Examine your life, make changes if you must, but live your life to it’s logical end; because, after all, the flow of your life is like the flow of the universe. You are connected to everything and it all means something to you. Figure it out for yourself and move on to a fuller, richer life. There is no trying to grasp your purpose, you either do , or you don’t. You can only fake it so long and there you all of a sudden , wake up to realize what a sham it has all been. My message is the same as it was 10 years ago, go for it. Life is your for the making. Personalize it by having your experiences mean something to you. We are all busy with hustle and bustle of life, but just maybe there is something more to grasp out of it than who wins the lottery. Win your own lottery by making your life real to you. The people you around you are reflections of you. You can gain from being with them, or you will meet them again and again, until you do grasp their connectedness to you.
If all you see is misery or happiness, then your experience is not complete, for the richness of life comes from experiencing the often, diametrically opposed views of everyone around you which make up your environment. To get it right, you must experience the falls and heights of life. You do this by examining each experience for any revealing thought which it shows you about the path you have chosen to make. This life is a gift, don’t waste it by not paying attention to it. Each person and event holds some truth for you. Bring your life home to you and you will recognize your purpose for being.
