Freedom
Is freedom a thing of the past, or was it ever here in the first place. I think it lies in the minds of men and women who can maintain their self-respect in spite of the world going on around them. Freedom is a mind-pattern. It is specific to those who think for themselves and always will be. It’s not a way of life as much as a way of living life according to the rules you set for yourself. It’s not about harming people who don’t think as you do as much as respecting their right to live and think as they do. It’s not take an eye for an eye as give an eye for an eye given. It’s not about protecting what you have as much as realizing the abundance around you can never be taken away. It’s not so much about the American flag as it is about Americans themselves. A government cannot give or take away your freedom, only you can, by default. In this world of duality, you never know how much you like something until its gone, but no matter how much you miss it, you can’t go back and get it, possibly because it never was yours in the first place. Self esteem starts with you. How can you respect others right to live if you don’t first respect your own? Freedom lies in going your own way and knowing that it will turn out right for you. Sometimes there are people who want to climb on your wagon and hitch a ride. I would just make sure why they’re following your chosen path. Is it to be a hanger-on or are they genuinely interested in going along for the ride. If so, make sure you show them a good time. How many kindred souls do you have tagging along after you? Does it matter? Everyone comes to earth for a reason and they have to discover that reason all alone. It’s one thing to lend a hand when it’s asked for and it’s quite another to offer one when it is not asked for, or even cared for. If I offer, I am proposing to know the direction another should go. That makes me responsible for altering their mind pattern. Changing one’s mind pattern is a serious thing and should not be taken lightly. How can you be sure of another’s thoughts without reading their minds in the first place? Why are people so willing to help anyway? Is it that they are lonesome on their path and they need some comfort, or worse, could it be that they want to enslave you? Be careful of the person who offers help without you first asking for it. A truly free person will not offer help until you ask for it. Life is a game that you have to figure out for yourself.
