When Work is Play

I have always loved my work.
I am a self confessed workaholic.
I have always been interested in why I love to work.
The answer is simple.
Work strokes my ego.
Anything that strokes my ego is considered play.

Make no mistake I like to get paid for what I do.
But once I get involved wild horses couldn’t tear me away.
You see, I sing when I work; exactly how is that work?
I love to see how many problems I can solve while going through an otherwise simple routine.
I crave the feeling that solving problems gives me.
Getting paid is just a plus for me.

It helps to know what I am doing, but I am very content to just learn all day too.
I love to learn from the people who actually work where the rubber meets the road.
Being wrong is just another excuse to learn something new.
I love the Internet, as it is the most wonderful learning tool I could ever dream of.
All right, I have the knack for what to search for so it doesn’t take me too long to become versed in what I want to find.
I am great at English, Math, Science, Music, Philosophy, and History and can converse successfully on any subject I choose because I am always learning.
This just means I paid attention in school; yes, school has its uses.
TV bores me because it was made to keep people busy.
I live a good book, which means I laugh all the way through it.
I never go to a movie that I cannot learn from.
You would be surprised what there is out to learn from.
By now, you have guessed I am a knowledge freak.
What can I say, knowledge strokes my ego too.
When I can find out why something works the way it does, that is the key to me.
You see, I live in my mind so I live and let live.

All this makes me a keen observer.
I love to watch people in the act of being themselves.
People are the best pleasure around; I love their complexity.
Given enough time, I can usually figure out what moves them.
You see, everything is connected by the energy of life.
I can flow with the universe because I am part of it.
Most people don’t think they can flow, but they automatically flow.
They are just to busy to notice, so I notice for them.
I am connected to them and it all.
I send them all love and I get love back in the form of work, which is play.

Send Love

That’s my response to everything anymore.

If someone cuts me off in traffic, I send them love and wish them on their way.
All I have to do is leave enough room for a car to get in front of me and here it comes.
This actually works well because most of the intruders on my space go away immediately into someone else’s space. If they don’t go away then it happened for a reason besides the cell phone users who are ever aware of what they are doing on the road. I look for the reason and pretty soon I find it and am pleased they slowed me down so I could notice life as it happens.

If someone does me a favor, I certainly do make time to send them love and wish them well. I find this takes up the majority of my time on the road. I am a people watcher. In that capacity, I am never bored or disappointed, but often pleasantly surprised and full of joy. Driving is fun to me and my time doing it is a never ending joy.

When I am in meditation, I naturally send love to everyone first. It sets the tone I want to set. When I am in flow, I am sending love all the time as that is what flow is, the state of abundance and being alive. When I am singing, I am giving love to everyone on earth because I am feeling so good. When I am solving problems, I give love when I run out of ideas to solve the problem and the universe responds with an answer. When I cut stone, I give the world its due because without the earth, there would be no stone to cut. When I almost step on an ant, I acknowledge other species. When I see a tree swaying in the wind, I notice how it moves and acknowledge its flexibility.

When I walk in the mountains, I feel the earth move. When I am in water, I flow like the ocean. When Aurita walks in the room, I acknowledge my love for her and her place in the world.

What I am pointing out here is we are all connected intimately and if we acknowledge this connection life becomes easier. We draw things to us unexpectedly. I cannot expect a one to one correspondence because that is not the way the universe works. The way the universe works is that you give your abundance and it gives you what you need to flow. The universe does not give you what your ego thinks you need. You can want money all life long and unless you make it appear, it will not. The universe will send you opportunities but it up to you to take advantage of them. If you don’t recognize the universe’s abundance, it will elude you forever. You can think positive all day long, but if you act negative, you will get negative back. The universe is ultimately consistent, but it often not apparent to the unappreciative or non-inventive. You need only connect the dots to have the abundance appear before you. You have the creative power to use creation for anything, but you must notice the motion of flow. Once you get in flow, you will know what I mean.. Watch a child; they know how to get in flow. A child will cry and smile all in connected moments. Life is a process not a destination. Process life as you would go through your day by noticing it as it goes by.

Notice life and it notices you, don’t and it will pass you by, unnoticed. While it will seemingly pass you by, you are still connected to it all. You are part of the abundance; all you have to do is acknowledge it to get some of it in your life.

It’s like dark matter in the supposed void. We have now found that dark matter makes up most of the universe where we thought there was nothing before. It was there all along, but we just didn’t look for it. This is a confirmation of the abundance of the universe. When we now how to look; the abundance appears like magic. Sending love makes me stronger than ever before. Why do we pay entertainers more than we would most other people? They entertain us. That is a valuable commodity. The more people you make happy the more abundance you will have.

When I hear about anything happening in the world, whether its good or bad in my opinion, I send love to the situation. In this way, my situation improves because I have done something positive. Hopefully someone will take this string of thought and use it for what they will, if nothing else. If the thought goes unheeded, then I have done what I can for strangers I do not know, but are connected to by the universal bond.

What can I say, it works.
